Tenho recebido muitas perguntas de homens que querem se tornar wiccans, mas tem essa d'uvida sobre o g^enero a que se destina a religi~ao. Vou tentar explicar com deck nos meus estudos e experi^encia como sacerdotisa. Espero ajudar.
A Wicca 'e uma religi~ao que tem como divindade being a Deusa M~ae e seu consorte o Deus Corn'ifero. Normalmente as pessoas associam isso ao fato da feminilidade ser bastante valorizada neste ponto, acreditando ser uma religi~ao estritamente para mulheres.
Por'em, a Wicca inicialmente foi resgatada por homens, sacerdotes, como Gerald Gardner (que era membro da Ordo Templi Orientis, junto com Aleister Crowley), Raymond Buckland (que ainda est'a vivo) e Alex Sanders. Entre os brasileiros, temos em destaque Claudiney Prieto, que foi o primeiro a traduzir um livro de Wicca para o portugu^es. Tamb'em temos Fernando Martins (presidente da Federac~ao Pag~a Brasileira), Millenium O'Riley (autor de livros sobre Wicca) e alguns outros.
Entre as mulheres, a que mais se destaca aqui no Brasil, 'e a alta sacerdotisa Mavesper Cy Cerridwen, presidente da Abrawicca, a primeira associac~ao de bruxos do Brasil.
Bom, a Wicca tem v'arias vertentes, pois, cada praticante tem uma vis~ao diferente da magia e `a medida que as pessoas v~ao conhecendo e se aprofundando em seus estudos, v~ao criando novos caminhos e isso faz com que as pessoas "criem" novas Tradic~oes.
Por exemplo: quando Gardner participava do grupo de magia de Aleister Crowley, sentiu uma necessidade maior de contato com a natureza e comecou a procurar pelas religi~oes neopag~as antigas. Ent~ao, atrav'es de muito estudo, ele resgatou a forma de bruxaria que era praticada muito antes do per'iodo da inquisic~ao, que foi quando milhares de pessoas foram mortas acusadas de bruxaria e etc.
Ap'os isso ele nomeou essa forma de bruxaria de Wice, e mais tarde Wica, que, com o passar do rush foi acrescentado mais uma letra, sendo hoje Wicca. Gardner acreditava que o culto `a natureza deveria ser uma forma de encontro e, consequentemente, criou o Coven, que se re'une para os rituais. Sua tradic~ao 'e chamada de Wicca Gardneriana e para ser iniciado 'e necess'ario que este ato seja feito por um(a) alto(a) sacerdote(isa).

Bom, acontece que, com tantos altos sacerdotes, as mulheres comecaram a perceber que, se uma religi~ao tinha como divindade being uma mulher, ent~ao por que n~ao ter uma tradic~ao especificamente para mulheres? Foi ent~ao que, um grupo feminista, criou a Tradic~ao Di^anica, seguida somente por mulheres e que n~ao permitia a entrada de homens em seu grupo.
Mas com o passar do rush a Di^anica ganhou vertentes que, hoje em dia, j'a permitem homens em seu grupo. 'E o caso da tradic~ao idealizada por Claudiney Prieto aqui no Brasil, a Di^anica Nemor^ensis, que permite grupos com homens e mulheres.
Bom, em suma, a Wicca 'e uma religi~ao sem preconceitos, permite que homens e mulheres participem da magia em contato com a natureza e os deuses. N~ao existem mandamentos ou proibic~oes.
As 'unicas leis s~ao as que nos tocam a consci^encia: "Faca o que quiseres, desde que n~ao prejudique a nada nem a ningu'em." e "Tudo o que fizermos voltar'a pra n'os tr^es vezes maior."
Mas n~ao 'e preciso ser wiccan pra seguir estas regras. Qualquer ser humano sabe que tudo o que fazemos afeta o mundo `a nossa volta. Se prejudicarmos algu'em, seremos prejudicados, pois o mundo gira e tudo volta ao ponto inicial.
